Tom Reid is a highly respected UK golf professional whose career is defined by excellence in coaching, academy development, and golf club leadership. His passion for the game and the industry fuels his work across every level, from grassroots development to strategic partnerships.
He began his career at Wentworth Club (2012–2017), where he led the junior academy, growing it from six to over one hundred students. He created a vibrant tournament series, guided multiple juniors into scholarship pathways, and was recognised three times as a U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Coach, earning Master Junior Instructor status in 2016. His impact at Wentworth forged lasting relationships with members and families that continue today.
In 2017, Tom trained with the team at GOLFZON Leadbetter HQ, before returning to the UK as Senior Teaching Professional at Stoke Park, where he played a key role as part of the leadership team that restructured the club’s junior scholarship program. He was also instrumental in brokering the partnership that made Stoke Park the European Headquarters for Leadbetter Academies. Today, Tom continues to coach six Division I student-athletes, including two NCAA All-Americans.
In 2019, Tom became co-owner of Sunningdale Heath Golf Club, where he and his team have shaped a club culture centered around inclusivity, excellence, and innovation. He co-leads a 20-strong team of professionals from some of the UK’s top clubs and has built one of the most successful junior programs in the country. The academy supports over 80 weekly students, includes 100 junior members, partners with local schools, and features a member-funded Junior Ambassador program. In 2025, Tom extended his club ownership portfolio and has acquired Merrist Wood Golf Club, a premium country club destination.
Tom’s impact extends well beyond coaching. With a natural ability to build high-level relationships, he has secured commercial agreements with major UK corporations and launched media collaborations with leading golf influencers—elevating the profile of Sunningdale Heath and growing the game in fresh, forward-thinking ways. His efforts were recognized in 2022 with his inclusion in the Top 50 UK Golf Instructors.
He is currently consulting for Wellington College, overseeing a 20-player elite squad. His program blends remote and in-person coaching, integrated performance tracking, and talent recruitment through his elite golf network—supporting the College’s mission to attract top-tier student-athletes through golf.
